I just bought a Fluke 179 from a pawn shop and I can't get the beeper to work...According to the manual, I can turn it off by holding the MINMAX button down while powering up...Isn't it on by default after turning off and then on again??...HELP I WANT MY BEEPIE

There is a small disc (buzzer) which is probably faulty (maybe it fell out of place and needs repositioning).
when you use the above procedure it disables bepper untill you switch the unit off again - it is ON by default.
