I just got a brand new Satellite Toshiba touch screen laptop yesterday for chritmas and its plugged in and charged over night but wont turn on unless its plugged in. Is this temporary? or is something
I turned it on before I was completely charged so I could register it, but I know you're suppose to let it charge before you use it- could that be why its not fully charging or is basically dead when its not plugged in and I go to turn it on? the battery light just stays orange.

As long as the charge is not complete the battery LED remains amber.
Give the laptop the time to charge: it should take 3 to 4 hours it it is not being used, and 3 times longer if it is used.
You do not need to register immediately with Toshiba.
