I just purchased a zonet ZSR1134WE wireless router and want to install it to my home system. However, I do not plan to use it, at this point, for the computer, but rather for the kids wi-fi (wii and ds) toys. I already have a cabled router installed to network our home computers. How do I install this wireless for this purpose?
Computers & Internet - Zonet - ZSR1134WE Wireless Router
check the main cable that connects to other computer or the source cable that feeds other computers.
At the back of the wireless router, your will find about four to five ports at the back.
Insert the source cable into the part of the five or four ports on the wireless router that is named "internet", then insert the other computer cables into any of the remaining port.
The main/source cable that is inserted into the internet part of the router will be the one to feed the other cabled computer and the antenna on the router will link to other devices.
Once this is done, just turn on the wireless on the device(s) you want to link, allow it search for network and once it found, they will be paired and connected.
Just make sure you identify the main cable the feeds the others and insert it into the internet part of the router.
An indicator light will blink on the router once the cable is inserted into the internet part and other ports will blink as well. This indicates that its connected.
Its as simple as this. Once you follow the above steps, you should not have any problem.
Or those unsure of how to connect your Wii to the internet wirelessly using a wireless router, here is my step-by-step guide for getting online.
First you'll need a compatible wireless router that can be found by going to the following site: http://www.nintendowifi.com/
From there, select your country, which will then take you to the WiFi index page. On this page, mouse over TECH SUPPORT at the top and from the menu that drops down, click on ROUTER INFO. Near the top of the following page, under the words "I don't own a wireless router, help me find one!" there is a "click here" link, which will finally take you to Nintendo's wireless router rating page, which you can look through to either see if your router will work or if you don't have a router, which one to get. For reference, if you live in North America, here is the router rating page.
