I just put a new alternator in my 81 720 datsun pickup 4×4 I got it jump started n it read 12v a little above but as I started driving it started dropping until it was down whats the problem plz help

Tom, When running voltage should be 14 to 14.8 volts, check all connections,fuses/relays,fusible links if equipped, bad battery, alternator defective, not wired up properly, broken wires loose alternator belt, etc.
