I live in a rented home and my heat is not coming up through the registers, could the filters be clogged, we know nothing about heat pumps. Should we check the filter first, before calling our landlord in Colorado..(I live in NY)
If it is forced air heat then you should change the filters. Also check to make sure the heater is kicking on. The main heat trunk line should feel warm right by the heater.
Is air blowing through the registers but it is not hot?
Gas or electric?
IF gas it could just be a pilot light went out, older furnaces need to be manually re-lit. Newer ones should do it by themselves.
IF elec. could just be the circuit breaker flipped and needs to be reset.
But you live in a rental, that is why you pay them monthly payments. They are, by law responsible to provide a clean, working home. They have to provide, (1) recepticle of running water, (1) toilet and or shower/bath, and HEAT. Call them, and have a professional take care of it.
