I need to manipulate power cord just right in order for it to charge up? Local computer repair shop says bad connection on motherboard. Said not worth repairing. Averatec 6200 laptop

You can buy a replacement motherboard on ebay for $150, but then you will have to pay someone to replace it. That could cost as much as the motherboard itself, so it is up to you how much you are looking to spend on this system.
