I need to know the miles on my son 2003 lexus but the battery is dead. Will i need to take a battery with me? or can you see the miles with car off?

Electronic dash you will need the power on. Pull your car up, hook up the jumper cables and then turn on the switch in his car. You don't have to start it , just power it up.
