I own an AudioVox CDM8500VM. I need to rerecord the answering maching message and cannot figure out how to do it. In the manual I see how to record a voice memo but not how to change the machine's message
I'm taking from what you are saying that you would like to change the outgoing message on your VoiceMail. That would be determined by your Wireless Provider. If you let us know your Wireless Provider, I'm sure we can help you further.
Usually, you would go to your voicemail and then go into the options. Here are a couple standard settings on Well Known Providers:
ATT: Press and Hold the 1 key to dial your voicemail. When the voicemail answers, press 4 to go to Personal Options. Then press 3 to Change Greetings, and finally, press 1 to change your outgoing Message. Follow the prompts to save and exit.
Verizon: Press *86 then Send. When you hear the Greeting, press #. Press 4 to go to Personal Options, then 3 for Greetings. Press 1 for Personal Greeting, and change it there. Follow Prompts to save and exit.
Sprint: Press the 3 Key during your message. This will allow you to select your Personal Options and then Greetings.
If you are on another Network, let me know and I will see what I can do. Good Luck!
RECORDING LIMITATION : You have a limit of 10 voice memos including those in answering machine inbox and voice memo menu. Each voice memo has the time limit of 60 seconds. Voice memo plays the preprogrammed greeting. This cannot be changed.
G hope this helpsgenerally when you need to record the message you often have to press and hold the message button untill it blinks. you record the message and press message button again. hit the rewind and play message you should hear it and at the end it should auto matically rewind and be set. good luck please rate this solution. thanks

On your manual, check Chapter 4 page 85. Maybe that should do it.
