I plug all the cord in the back of the modem.... the power light blinks, an then the dsl, an thn the ethenet light then cuts off all the lights, for those three, an start all over again an again.. never seems to try to connect for activity io hve unplugg it for an while an cam back to get an it starts the process all ovr again

If the modem was supplied by your Internet Service Provider, telephone them for Technical Support, either to trouble-shoot, or to replace the modem.
Obviously, they want to keep you as a customer, paying them money every month. So, they should replace the modem "no questions asked".
