I powered the monitor off 1 evening after watching movies I was useing the monitor as a second monitor on computer doing multi tasks, but now when i turn it on i just get a black screen it lights up at first then goes black like its asleep just wondering if you have seen this or is monitor bad

Your computer may not be seeing your second monitor. Go to your display settings and see if you computer is seeing monitor 2.
A fast way to check is to plug this monitor in as your primary on the computer to see if it works.
