I procured a used smart ups 1000va, the batteries were bad so i replaced them. I have realised that when i put on the ups, even when i have not plugged into the grid (240Vac ), it blinks to indicat that there is AC supply. However when i plug it into the grid supply, all the 6 LEDS (indicators) are flashing.What could be causing this problem and how do i deal with it sucessfully

Assuming this is an SMT1000 the manual can be found here. If not please post the model number. Re-seat the battery connections and verify they are correct. The unit may be faulty.
