I purchased two identical hard drives. (MyBook Essentials 2T) The first one works fine, the second, loads the driver and says it is now ready to use, but when I look for it, it is not there. (Show everything available to use using Windows Explorer) If I go to the icon to "safely remove Hardware, it is listed - I just can't access it. I am running a HP Pavilion Elite 190t with Windows Vista. I also have a HPMyBook (1T) attached to my computer and that works fine

What may be happening is it's conflicting drive letters.
Try this.. Plug in the drive. Right click on My Computer, choose Manage. Go to Disk Management under Storage.
Look for the WD drive there, it may have no drive letter associated with it. That would be the problem. Right click on the drive entry and choose Change Drive letter. Pick a Letter.
Exit out and open windows explorer and the drive should now show up.
