This is probably the 'progressive scan' feature for your DVD player. If you haven't had any other problems with the player, try pushing the button again (a second time). This feature is likely a 'toggle-on, toggle-off, so a second 'push' should turn-off the progressive scan. If this doesn't correct it, power the unit off, then power-on again.
