I put the cd rom into the drive and nothing happens. I go to click on the icon under my computer and it causes the window not to respond

I put my computer game in the drive to install it and nothing happens. It just acts like I didn't put anything in at all but I tryed it with different program and it worked. I know its not the disc because it cam with a 3 pack and the other two do the same thing as well.
Confirm that the CD drive is not a CD-ROM dive and the CD you are trying to open is is not a DVD. CD-ROM drive wil not open a DVD ROM and in some cases will cause the system to stop responding if youtry to run it.
