I recently had a box put in by my cable company and am unable to record. I went into the setup to see if I needed to do something differently. Unfortunately, I choose progressive scan thinking it would help, but now I have a have white and have black screen with sound. The setup menu no longer appears to correct the problem. Is there a reset button. I know there is a reset on the menu, but I can't see the menu. Is there a solution. Janice

HI janice To answer your question; The progressive scan can be used only with the components outputs(YPbPr) on you dvr and if your tv is compatible with it. The lost of the menu is puzzling but let`s assume that it is there and just not showing up. So i will give you a blind procedure to reset to factory default, with the dvr on; Press the setup button once. Press the right arrow >> once Press the down arrow 3 times Press enter and setup. This should bring your dvr back to factory settings. Try it and let me know as i might have some other ideas in case this doesn`t work
Unplug your dvr for about ten minutes before you try that procedure.Almost forgot; Unplug your dvr for about ten minutes before you try that procedure.
Hi Janice. Turn off all of the components wait two minutes and then turn everything on. Then using the tv remote select input and a menu will appear which will give you several choices. work your way down from one to another until the picture on the screen is the one you want. IF you are still having a problem with recording call your cable company because they should have given you the necessary instructions after they changed your system. Regards, Joe
