I recently was given a used Porter Cable Router model 75182. It would not start up. Router would make terrible noise and overheating smell
I took it apart. I replaced both upper and lower bearings as well as brushes. I carefully cleaned everything, and put it back together. But no change. It is drawing so much power that it dimmed my garage lights! What can the issue be?

the overheating indicates burnt out wiring in fields or armature
