If it is popping while cranking it over that means you are out of time. The timing marks all need to be aligned when you install a belt. If you are absolutely sure your marks were lined up you may have a bent valve. This happens when the timing belt breaks. If this is the case your cylinder head would need to be removed for inspection. Good luck
