Reading the Primary Tide

tide is rising or "flooding". When it's in the red zone (right side of the dial)
the tide is falling or "ebbing".
4. The numerals (4 and 2) in both the blue and red zones indicate the approximate
number of hours before the next High Tide and Low Tide respectively.
The vertical lines within these zones indicate interval hours relative to the 4
and 2.
