I stopped my first backup and now it's stuck on pause
There's no button to resume. I've rebooted the computer, deleted the backup plan 3x and the result is it shows it's paused. The HD is blinking and copying files but I'm not sure it's reliable if it's not acting normal. Also, I can't safely remove the HD it's not associated with any open windows and it won't power down. Either it blinks slowly or the light stays on. I'm debating whether to uninstall/reinstall or reformat. HELP!

Hi Sue and yes see if you can go into your control panel and then programs uninstall and try again.....CHEERS..

Hi Steve. I just got an email re your last reply and I can't find it here, although the email did show what you wrote. I have been at this all day and finally got it working, but still not 100%. I found that the WD drive was associating itself with another program and when I uninstalled the other program, it would safely remove. I should point out that I had to download 2 different programs to try to safely remove. Then when the icon problem was still there, I decided to restore to an earlier date. That brought back my safe to remove icon, but some of my WD icons are still showing up wrong. I did finally get it to start copying, but I'm not satisfied that this is working 100%. For one thing, the quick view icon is still showing another program so it won't show up in my notification area. THIS IS A REAL PAIN! It only started backing up at 7 pm and it's at 3%. I may reformat or just decide to return it as I doubt that will help).
