I was just told that using Windows Media 11 would be a better choice than Roxio for creating mp3 files from a cd...because Roxio isn't working for making mp3 files from the cd. I just installed Windows Media 11, and it is not able to make mp3 files from the cd either. Might that be a problem with the cd? Something with Write-protection?

I do not think there is a problem with the cd, it is a configuration of the windows media player 11, get into the options or preferences (whatever it says) and then go to the "Ripper" tab(or (CD Rip tab), and by default the output file is wma (windows media audio) you must change it to mp3 (or sometimes it says mpeg3), and that's it, if there is no option for mp3 let me know.
