I was recently given a goodmans 28 inch colour TVreceiver with text and Nicam Stereo by my daughter who has emigrated to Austrlia. It is working perfectly but I cannot get any of the functions other than switching on and off by using the Remote control she gave me, despite fitting new batteries which I thoght may have been the problem. The only assumption I can make is that it is not the correct remote control since there is no indication on it.i.e goodmans name or any other details. I wish to adjust the contrast and the colour, but cannot access the menu to enable me to do so. Please help a frustrated 80 year old. Sincerely Gerry Crabbe

Hello Sir,
since the remote control is not the same name with the TV, then it means the remote is a master remote. The master remote needs a code that should be entered before it can work with TV. I believe if the remote code is entered, it should function with the TV.
Please give me the remote name so that I can search for the code if its available or if you have the manual for the remote control, you can check for goodmans code there.
With this, I believe the problem should be solved.
