I was told by pentax that my tamron lens is no good for my pentax camera.I would like to know why .My camera is two years old and has been sent back to pentax four times .they tell me the problem is my tamron lens not sending the proper signal to my camera.Can this be true.I want the camera replaced

Absolutely. Pentax only guarantee compatibility of their cameras with their own lenses as long as they're contemporary to the model you're using.
Other manufacturers make lenses which will physically fit your camera, but now that all communication between the body and lens is electronic they're not always fully compatible especially as the camera manufacturer often changes the technical specifications.
Check with Tamron: it's not unusual to have to send your lens back for an update to ensure compatibility with the latest models.
