I went snorkeling with my olympus 780sw camera last weekend and was taking photos just fine. It was nearing the end of the battery life I believe and when i went to try to turn it on, nothing happened so I thought it had died(battery) I went to try and charge it, and the red light comes on, but it only flashes and does not stay solid, even after letting the battery sit in the charger for >5 hours. Is there a problem with my battery then? the charger? the camera and battery combined? any assistance would be appreciated

I have the same problem with my 770 SW. The funny thing is, some outlets in my house will allow it to charge, some will just make the light flash. I found your question looking for a better solution. Try all the outlets in your house with the charger, I know it sounds silly, but it works for me.
