I wish to install a manual choke since the automatic choke no longer works
I have to remove the air cleaner cover and spray ether in the carb if it has been sitting turned off for more than 30 minutes. This same issue happened on our previous Ariens lawn tractor so we replaced it within 30 days of purchase. Now this one is doing the same thing. I have found a work-around by drilling a small hole in the air cleaner cover (large enough for the ether spray tube) and then covering with a piece of duct tape but that is not the preferred method. If there is such a manual choke cable that can be installed and someone knows the part number that would be appreciated.

Most any auto parts store will have a manual choke conversion kit for about $10us.You will have to be a little creative to hook it up. But...your engine shouldn't need to be choked once it runs awhile and is still warm. I would look for other causes like binding linkages, unhooked springs and loose carburator mounting.
