No, it most certainly won't. The only thing that will happen is that the broken axle shaft will spin while the other one remains still. The car will not move except maybe slightly but in the opposite direction you are intending to go. It definitely won't be drivable and you might end up doing more damage while trying with that broken shaft flailing around. If it's making noise get it changed. If you can't right away then drive it extremely easy by accelerating very slowly, don't drive it at all hard or to fast, maybe 35 and under depending on how bad it is.
