OK, you would hear a grinding uneven sort of sound, also, to though, as well I would expect, that the "Bands" would be "Slipping" and the motor revving noise would rise in engine volume as it revved but didn't increase speed very much. due to the bands slipping. Also if you smell the transmission fluid if there is a problem you can literally smell it. It smells like something is "Burnt" slightly. Transmissions can be a real problem, if not caught early. You should take your whip, in to an Auto transmission place, and ask them to test it out, and give you a report, It may simply need the bands adjusting, or some such simple procedure. Unless abused Auto's are great, as long as they are regularly serviced, as with everything.
