Each one of them burners has a switch mounted on the stem. You must remove the knobs,escrucheons, and a few screws to get the facing off so that you can diagnose. Remove a wire from each spark switch till the ticking stops. Replace switch as necessary.

Quick question: can one just disconnect all the spark switches and eliminate the problem as well? Of course, it means lighting the burners by hand but reduces the cost of purchasing new ones.
