I'm getting a slight odor of rotten eggs from the hot water faucet. I had a new water heater installed about 1 month ago. I am using well water. The tank is model #82V401. A neighbor replaced the anode rod in his tank with an aluminum one and it solved the problem. But! my manual says if I do anything to alter the tank, it voids the warranty. The installer said they wouldn't come to check it or replace the rod unless I got a well company to "shock" my well. The well company said they wouldn't come out to do this unless I was getting the bad smell from both the hot and cold water...which I am not. I'm between a rock and a hard place! My grandma had the same issue. I fixed it by installing a water filter. Good Luck
