I'm not really a technician, but I used to sell Filter Queens and was taught how to maintain them, and have tackled "fixing" some problems. I am a 71 year old great-grandmother of 8, but have good health and am very active. The Filter Queen I have is r, usedeally old, and I have kept it up. Just this week, however, I turned it on and it had a noise which sounds like something might be loose in the motor. I have always been very careful to have a clean hepa filter to protect the motor, so I know it's a mechanical problem. Since it is so old, I am tackling repair myself. I have taken it apart, used "air in a can" to blow out any dust, cleaned the inside rubber and am attempting to put it back together. The only problem I'm having is putting the three long screws which hold it together. Can you please tell me how I can manage to hold the long screw from the inside so I can put the nuts on? Thank you
It's tricky to hold screws with one hand and screwdriver with other hand; however, I am 65-yr-old female and do it yearly with 100% perfection! Take a break, relax, and try again! I sit on floor, put attachment between legs for supporting vacuum, hold screw with left hand & screwdriver with right hand!
By the way, the rollers on my Filter Queen 1970 Cannister "moved from previous position" & not working!
I just took my old majestic apart to fix the motor on mine, when you open the top of the machine where the exit hook up is you take out those three screws the top case comes off and you can get to those three screws and alot more of the motor as well
