Incorrect letters in Reader Rabbit Learn to Read
I recently purchased a Reader Rabbit Learn to Read with Phonics (preschool and Kindergarten) Special 2 CD Edition for my grandchild. While the CD is great for the most part, the organ component (fill in the blanks with the correct letters) has some really serious problems. I believe the designer of the program intended to have the child presented with three words, each of which has one letter missing, with the other spaces already filled in with either an X or the correct letter. Unfortunately, the program frequently presents the child with words that have two or three missing letters and doesn't tell the child which blank he should fill in. What makes this a serious problem is the fact that if the child fills in, for instance, the first blank with the correct letter, when the game apparently wanted him to fill in the last blank, the child's answer is rejected - even though the program never told him which of the blanks he was supposed to fill in. A more serious problem with this ''organ'' component is the fact that some of the words presented to the child have the wrong letters. For instance a picture of a bed is shown and the child is given the word '' __ l d''. If the child fills in the blank with a b, obtaining the word ''b l d'' , then he is told that is correct.
I hope that the Learning Company has corrected this problem, or plans to. If so, how can I get a corrected version? If not, is there anyway in which I can bypass this component when my child plays the game?
Thank you for your assistance, Deborah Ummel

Usually issues like this an other inconsistencies in sofware (called bugs) are sometimes repaired with updates to the sofware eventually released by the company that came up with the product/software.
I would suggest to review the user guide as it may also be a configuration problem. found the user guide here
I'm not sure if the program has an option or settings or help menu, most programs do and under this menu you may find something like "search for updates", use that to attempt to get an update for your software that may correct the bugs that you are mentioning, alternatively
there seem to be an update for your software, see here ,I suggest you download and install this update following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
alternatively, try to reinstall the software by going to start>control pannel>add and remove programs, look for the program and click change/remove to proceed, then restart your computer (if required) and reinstall the sofware.
if neither of this work, I would suggest to try to get in contact with the sofware developer and explain the situation as they maybe able to provide a more precise solution, contact developer here
I hope that helps!
