Inoperative Ice Maker
The ice maker, located in the door, fails to make ice. The area is cold (certainly cold enough to freeze) and the 'fingers' that move the ice through the tray work. LG customer service had me press and hold the ice size selector button until the mechanical part of the system rotated through a complete cycle. There was no sound of water flowing although I am able to get water from the door dispenser (so water to the entire refrigerator is available). Also there was no motion to the ice-bucket-full detector rod but I don't recall that it ever moved. How does the fridge know that the ice bucket is full? I suspect that the valve controlling water flow into the ice maker tray is bad and that otherwise, things are all playing okay. No proof of this though. Any suggestions? ICE MAKER WILL NOT MAKE ICE. HAVE REPLACEDTHE FILTER BUT THAT HAS BEEN OUT FOR A WHILE. BUTTON ON INSIDE OF FREEZER (ON/OFF) FLASHES.
