Insatller setup my Kohler Toilet (#11451) and after he finished the installation the back of the water closet was 3.5 inches away from the back wall. He said the waste line was set 12 " from the wall as stated in the specifications. If so shouldn't the back of the watercloset be flush with the wall?

It should be 1-3" away from the wall if waste line is 1 foot away from the wall. 7" of water tank and bowl.
