Instruction Manual for Bernina 801 - need instructions for oiling the Bernina 801
The handwheel on my sewing machine is stuck - as suggested, I checked the bobbin rewind and it was turned on - turning it off pretty much fixed the problem. Yippee! But now I want to oil that handwheel and there are no instructions for that process in my manual. Help please!

Your Bernina 801 is a vintage machine and should be cleaned and oiled regularly. Use only Fresh, good quality sewing machine oil--not 3-in-1, WD-40, cooking oil, or the stinky stuff in grandma's sewing basket!
Basically, open the top of the machine. There are probably little round holes (called oil ports) throughout the top and bottom where a couple of drops of oil should be applied. If you don't see oil ports, slowly hand rotate the handwheel and apply a couple drops of oil every place where metal rubs on metal. Do NOT oil belts, cams, or plastic parts! Don't miss the multiple places on the take-up lever and also for the bobbin area and feed dogs! In your case, there is a metal gear just on the inside of the handwheel that needs oil--there's usually an obvious oil port there.
