Intermittent monitor outages with MPC Transport T1200? Should I replace monitor or check wiring and how? New-to-me laptop, upon powering on no picture was visible, could hear all normal sounds of windows booting up. on closer inspection the picture WAS visible, but too dim to make out more than the gray of dialog boxes, the white background of my computer, etc. wiggling the monitor will temporarily fix the problem if held at precisely the right angle. I don't see any screws near the hinge that would indicate how to remove the monitor to troubleshoot. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Looking through your owners manual, there are several keyboard shortcuts that can at least increase the appearance, although it sounds like a simple connection problem. Very hard to find a repair manual, although most transport laptops have a very thin multiwire cable connecting the monitor to the keyboard. Sounds like that cable has one or more wires broken, or just possibly a bad connection where the cable connects to the mbd. If you have the expertise to disassemble and repair, those cables are available at many places like Fry's Electronics, however many are soldered in place and require quite a bit of technical expertise to replace. I would suggest doing some price shopping at some of your local repair shops. Here is what the manual says: Problem Action The display panel is blank when the system is turned on
