Internet is connected but browsing is a mess
I have comcast internet with a wireless router. I am having a terrible time browsing the internet. When I try to go to a site it will say different messages depending on the browser but they all basically mean the site cannot be found. I have to hit refresh or try again up to 20 times and then finally the page will load. Comcast says that according to their system they show a full connection coming into the house. My email never goes down, my wireless connection to Xbox Live never disconnects, and when I listen to Sirius online it never interrupts so it does seem that the connection from Comcast is working. I have rebooted everything including the modem and router several times over the last few weeks. I have tried my laptop and PC with Chrome, IE, and Firefox on each one and hard wired directly to the modem and it's the same problem mo matter what.

It sounds like your having problems with Comcast's DNS servers. I would suggest using an alternate DNS server. DNS servers are what connect YOUR computer to Website Servers, physically. The DNS server I would recommend is Open DNS. its free, and there are some pretty good instructions on their site that should help you set it up. If you have any trouble with the setup, just pop on fixya, and we can fix it!
