Intertherm heat pump blows hot then cold then hot
I have a 4 year old intertherm 3 ton heat pump electric package unit.I turned on the heat the other night and it blew warm for several minutes then it blew cold for several minutes then back to warm again and the same thing keeps happening.I thought it was the indoor thermostat so i replaced it its doing the same thing. please help!!!

Heat pump runs for 10 min. then cuts off. will not run over 10 min.It is a INTERTHERM.could it be the defrost control
You may have a problem with a temperature safety system. Before changing anything else, check to see if the unit is clean!!! Dirt/dust can fool the safety system into an overtemperature status. Inspect the heat coils for damage and dirt. Gently clean.
