Invacare Meteor Hillclimber. Charger shows batteries are charging as per the three stages but are not fully charged when charger gets to the third stage ( trickle) batteries are 2 x 65Ah Fullriver 6 months old, they have been returned to the supplier and the print out when tested showed the batteries to be in perfect woking order. The charger is an Invacare 24v 8 amp external unit. The batteries were fully charged when I first installed them and again they were fully charged after they were tested, it appears that the deteriation from being fully charged to the stage were I am only getting approximately half life is a slow decline, it is the slow decline that gives me the impression that the batteries are not getting a full charge as being shown on the charger. I put the scooter on charge after every trip. Please ask if further information is required. Thank you Brian

Hi Brian. I would suggest getting an electronic multimeter and test the charger at the 24 volt contact points. Set the multimeter to volts and check the reading. In your case, the meter should show a reading around 24 volts. After testing for the voltage, switch the multimeter to amps and check your reading. It sounds to me like the charger might be the problem, and would suggest that you take the charger in, to be tested. Hope this helps

Good day Brian. Since the battery has been tested already and prove to work fine, it appears to be a problem with the battery charger (BAT-GC0822 / Charger 24V/8A with AUS mains cable). I suggest that you have the battery charger checked with a proper electronic device.
You might also want to consider the full charging time as per manual.

In the batteries there are cells.That cells gets charged.If the internal cells get dead , then battery will actually charge but will also loose its charge quickly. --------- To confirm this you can test the battery charge by meter.When you face low charge problem in decline, at that time check the battery charge.f the voltage shows less, that means battery is loosing its charge quickly.If the battery is loosing its charge, that means cells are dead inside.This has to be confirmed by another set of battery.------ Thanks.Helpmech.
