Is there a way to fix my Griffin iPhone Adapter? The wires have clearly snapped inside their casing, from the Adapter wire bending and breaking from when I listen to my music and have the iPhone in my pocket.

Is it a case of cutting the adaper wire, paring back the insulating plastic, reattaching the wires? Or is this even possible? (The break is right next to the plastic jack head)
