Ipod to component cables do not work on 32 inch element hdtv. i exchanged the cables, still have same problem. the cables have only worked when they are in wrong color ports, but then the picture has a pink or purple or green hue (depending on the combination). using light blue, light green and red component video cables (Y, Pb, Pr) and red and white audio cables. audio works fine. using 5th gen 30gb ipod classic. "TV Out" setting is "On" on my ipod. tried changing setting on ipod to PAL or NTSC. movie i used to test was from itunes. tried "component 1" and "component 2" inputs on tv. any help much appreciated

Weird but okay! I think what you got here is a issue with how the tv is processing that RGB for the ipod classic. However there is another way out of this and that is a RCA red yellow and white cables or HDMI inputs. I think its how your tv is handling it.
I would try this on a totally different tv if it works you got your fix that is the tv is not handling the resolution on the ipod.
Give it a try take it to another tv if it works it that if it does the same thing its the ipod!
