Is it o k to bend the thermocouple tip. The only way my Mr. Heater will stay lit is to tilt the heater so the pilot flame bathes the thermocouple tip, but i heard that bending could disable it

Bending it will ruin it. You need to find out why the pilot flame is not as strong as it should be.
It is usually caused by bugs or spiders having gotten into the small air mix jet of the pilot assembly and died or built a web or, there is some dirt from the fuel that is partially clogging the fuel tube leading up to the pilot assembly, or plugging the orifice.
