Is it possible to just get a new remote and not the whole kit?
The remote to our system was dropped and broke apart. Will it be okay to put it back together, or will we have to replace the entire system?

You can certainly try putting it back together to see if it works.
If it is not fixable, you should be able to purchase just the transmitter to your fireplace remote control.
