Is pump supposed to kick on and off during brewing or run steady
I just purchased an xp4030 and ran the reccomended cleaning cycle (2 times. If I remember correctly the pump kicked on and off while it ran with no coffee in the filter, but not sure if i am remembering correctly or not.

The folowing morning I attempted my 1st brew, the pump ran steady and the coffee was light and weak. I called Krupps because the instruction book even suggested that the pump should run for 3 second intervels untill the brewing process is compleate. They told me that the pump runs steady and that it must be the way i am tamping it they also suggested that the instructions are wrong about tamping it and that you should not they said that they may be changing these instructions and that i should try tamping differently. I tried different tamping, it did not work. I think they are wrong about the pump, the instructions say it will kick on and off and i think by running continually it is forcing the water through before the coffee has a chance to brew. has any one else had this issue and is Krupps correct about the pump or am I (the girls i spoke to said they tested their machine and it ran continually, im wondering if theirs is broken as well) as I said before I think the first time i used it (the cleaning ) it did kick on and off
