BEWARE! Bernina machines take a special Bernina-only foot, and even the older Bernina mechanical feet will not fit the newer Berninas, and vice versa.
For the most part, your 1260 uses the old style presser foot--BUT be sure to check as there are some old style that will NOT work on your machine. (Be sure to CONFIRM whether it will work on your machine as I believe the 1260 has some specifics that will not take all old style.) Red marked presser feet are only new style (ie computerized machines). The difference is in how the presser foot is designed at the top where it attaches to the machine. Your Bernina dealer generally carries both the old and new style. BEFORE you buy, be sure to ask whether you are getting the right foot for the 1260!
Look at the top of these presser feet so you can recognize what you need. You are probably safe buying the presser feet that have the 2 pegs at the top (if it has solid peg across the top, it may not work): http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bernina-1260-sewing-machine-parts.aspx#filter:ptype_gmcfeed_1:$2520Presser$2520Feet

You can use snap-on feet BUT you still need a Bernina Adapter in order to do so.
