Is the dryer suppose to ignite for 8seconds and shut off?and continue doing this 30sec appart And the timer goes from 57 min to 18 min no error

Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet. Let sit unplugged for a couple of minutes--replug the dryer and see if the 'reset' makes a difference.
