No sound? Check your drivers. Go to the start button, settings, control panel, system, hardware, device manager and look for sound and game controller on the list. Is there any exclamation or question marks showing up there? If so, you need to click on those drivers and roll them back. Or you can upgrade them if you have a working internet connection.
Your power setting in the control panel folder should show you what power saver setting the OS is currently using. Switch it to hibernate if you want it to start doing that again...sometimes new programs turn off those features to avoid operating issues.
