Remove all the drivers for the device from add/remove programs. Make sure it is not installed under device manager. Once removed, restart the computer and reinstall the drivers for the device. Then try to connect the device.
I would suggest that you remove the batteries and remove all drivers for the device from your computer, then do a fresh install.
1. Go to control panel and go to add/remove programs. Locate the program (assuming its Logitech), locate the one for wireless mouse. Click remove program.
2. Go to the search field which is located under the start menu, do a search for file. Type in Logitech and if anything shows up with the logitech wireless mouse device or says driver, remove it as well.
3. Remove the batteries from the mouse and unplug the connector from the computer.
4. Restart the computer and get back to the desktop.
5. Reload the drivers for the Device from the Logitech website, not from the disk you have. The disk you have my have out of date drivers. Once you download and install drivers, plug in the input connector which has the button to connect the wireless devices.
6. Make sure batteries placed in mouse are brand new batteries.
7. Press button on both mouse and on connector to connect mouse. If you are using blue tooth, once the batteries are replaced in the mouse the computer will pick up the device and ask to install.
8. Once installation is complete, go to Device Manager and look where it has the section for the mouse. It should have the wireless mouse with no ? mark over the device. If there is a ? mark over the device, that means that it did not install properly.
9. If the device is still not install properly after those steps, then you may have a faulty mouse which you will have to contact the manufacturer or the store you purchased it to obtain a new one.I would suggest that you remove the batteries and remove all drivers for the device from your computer, then do a fresh install.
