I was very skeptical, but that worked! There was the slightest spot of oil or or something on the base (which I had not yet used) and cleaning it made the difference between no heat, no foam and a very nice cappuccino moments later. i started using low cal almond milk and it made amazing froth. then one day i wanted to see what would happen with chocolate milk and it just looked bubbly, not frothy. when i went back to almond milk the froth was never the same. bubbly and not smooth. i cleaned my frother spotlessly, but to no avail. i thought i must have damaged something internal on the machine, but then i tried using skim milk and it frothed it perfectly. i think i'll stick with skim for awhile.i started using low cal almond milk and it made amazing froth. then one day i wanted to see what would happen with chocolate milk and it just looked bubbly, not frothy. when i went back to almond milk the froth was never the same. bubbly and not smooth. i cleaned my frother spotlessly, but to no avail. i thought i must have damaged something internal on the machine, but then i tried using skim milk and it frothed it perfectly. i think i'll stick with skim for awhile.

The milk frother must be extremely clean at it"s base. Hold frother up to the light and carefully examine the base for any type of filmy stuff.
Use a teatowel (dishcloth) or clean rag to polish the base and the problem will be fixed.
