As said, if it beeps 9 times after stopping, than this is known issue and if your bumper moves freely, you might be facing a sensor fault caused by poor quality of components. Here is a guide to fix it
jb456 when you release the bumper if the clean light stays on, it means a problem with the bumper. You should continue and get to the sensors in order to check if it is a dirt or (with a digital camera) the emitter is dim. Since bumper sensor is inside a close housing you can not check it while Roomba is assembled. Hope that helps, Avi

If it beeps 9 times but has no message. its likely a sensor malfunctioning. It might be a cliff sensor, the bump switch, or wheel-drop (left, right, or caster). Try cleaning the sensors and vacuuming things out as a first step.
If on the other hand you are getting a verbal message when you next press "clean", for example "please check Roomba'ss right wheel" then you should follow up on whatver the self-detected fault is first.
Avi, When I reach the part on your fix "Upon entering the bumper test, the Clean LED will be Red. The program waits for the user to press the left side of Front Bumper". When I press the left side(not sure which is left or right) the only thing that is happening is the Clean LED is Red and the Dirt Detector light is flashing Blue. There is no response from the Bumper Testing. Any thoughts?
