It says boot error shutting down and my pc won't recognise it
When i turn it on, it comes up with the blue screen then turns off showing the message boot error shuting down. when i connect it to my pc, it won't recognise it or see it at all so i cannot even reformat it or update the firmware. any ideas what to do to make it work?

Previous solution works if your comp. will recognise the device. Disconnect all network drives and you will be able to access to the device - for format or upgrading, at least it worked for me. :)
I have also had the same problem. Go to Google mail and type "MMP8567 boot error" in the search. You will get results where there is links to get the firmware. Especially, from FixYa. Down load the firmware and install it in your PC. Then it will format your player and install the new firmware. Your recorded songs will be lost.
