Iv just replaced a motor in my vacuum with a brand new one but after 5 mins the shaft that the belt goes on to on the motor is getting very hot and the belt also it quite warm, could this be a faulty motor? Thanks
Sounds like the belt could be slipping causing friction. Try running without the belt just to eliminate the motor. If the shaft stays cool (as I am sure it will) try a new belt.there is a possibility that the brush that is being driven by the belt could be stiff with a build up of debris around the spindle.good idea to check this as well .
